Let's Get Fit Over the past 30 years, childhood obesity has become a more serious problem. Today, 1 in 3 children in America are overweight. The numbers are larger in the African American and Hispanic communities. Studies have shown that 40% of the children are overweight. If our community doesn't find a solution, childhood obesity will be higher than ever. Childhood obesity will suffer from diabetes. Many others will face related health problems such as heart diseases, high blood pressure, cancer and asthma. The benefits of fitness are well-known from increasing strength and endurance for everyday activities. Exercising will improve health, appearance, and wellness. The solution to childhood obesity is getting fit. The key to fitness is increasing your activity level and doing so consistently. Remember to check with your doctor before starting a fitness program. Before you begin exercising, lifting weights, or even a run/jog. Exercising without stretching can cause some serious injuries like muscle spasms and cramps.Once you complete warming up your body for the work out, you can begin to lift weights. Remember to wear shorts and a t-shirt or even warm ups.
